Summary

How 'Uamh an t-Sagairt' [The Priest's Cave] got its name.

At one time some Travellers near Wick wanted to hold a wedding. A priest happened to come by on a horse and the Travellers met him at the entrance to a cave. They took hold of the horse and demanded that the priest conduct the marriage. They would not listen to any arguments and the priest had to go along with them. They took him into the cave and he performed the ceremony. He and the horse were released the next morning. The cave is known to this day [1960] as 'Uamh an t-Sagairt' [The Priest's Cave].
