Summary

In this song the poet is in conversation with an echo. He says that the echo is sorrowful in the hall where music was once heard; now the place is without joy or dancing.

Item Notes

Composed by Roderick Morrison (An Clàrsair Dall c. 1646-1713), as a warning to Roderick, son of Iain Breac MacLeod of Dunvegan who had been a great patron of musicians and poets, not to let his traditional inheritance die out. Only three verses sung of this much longer song.
