Summary
Family history of Mrs Helen Scott.
Helen Scott's mother was born on the Gala Water opposite Stow. Helen's maternal grandfather was a singer and fiddle player, who sang old songs to the children. Helen thinks the family had the name Faa Blythe. Sandy Scott comments that the Faas and the Blythes intermarried. Helen's grandfather sang 'The Bingo Farm'. His name was Walter Douglas, from Stow, and he won a diploma for long service, 30 years on the same farm.
Item Notes
Faa Blythe was the name of the Kings and Queens of the Gypsies of Yetholm.
