Summary
There was a feeing fair twice a year in Stirling at which farm workers were hired for six months at a time.
Mrs Hailstones' father used to take her to the twice-yearly feeing fair in Stirling, where he went to sell his pigs. There were market stalls in one of the streets, and the men and women waiting to be hired stood near the arcade. They would be hired for the next six months. Some farm workers stayed in a place for two or three years, others moved more frequently.
