Summary
Harvest barn dances; corn dollies and buttonholes.
Dances used to be held in barns. There would be a barn dance at harvest time and probably a special meal. Mrs Hailstones has corn dollies made by a cousin in England, but a man in Kippen also used to make them. Farmers used to make a small plaited loop to wear in the buttonhole.
