Summary
The man in this song meets with a soldier in Edinburgh. He tells how the soldier told him that the army was the best job in the world and that he would get a lot of money. He is recruited into the army and he gets a red coat, a kilt and a gun. In the end he says that it is a shame his gun is not locked up in Edinburgh Castle.
