Summary
Colonsay cattle ferried to Jura on the way to mainland markets.
Colonsay cattle were ferried from Scalasaig in Colonsay to Jura, then from Jura to Keills, from where drovers walked them to market in Falkirk. There were tales of drovers being robbed on their way home. The contributor's own grandfather went to Falkirk with cattle. She recites fragments of a song, 'Bealach a' Mhorghain', which her great-grandfather heard coming from the fairy hill while taking cattle to Jura.
