Title - A' sealg eòin ann am Barraigh.
Contributors - Roderick MacPherson
Reporters - Donald Archie MacDonald; Mary MacDonald

Summary - Hunting birds in Barra.

A very good account of shooting cormorants and their use as food. They were hung for a period before use. They made soup of the birds, which were either plucked or skinned.

They hunted them on headlands using boats. One man would remain in the boat while the others went ashore to shoot the birds. The catch was shared among all taking part. A detailed account is given of the hunt, the dogs and the guns used.

The contributor also mentions the different birds they killed for food and some associated proverbs.
