Summary - How a Uist man met a 'dead' man.
At one time people used to walk everywhere and would stop at any house on their way. This Uist man was travelling and he stopped, at nightfall, at an isolated house. There was a woman there on her own, crying. Her husband had died, and she asked the Uist man to stay with the body while she went for help. When she left, the 'corpse' got up. He said that his wife was going with a robber and had tried to kill him, but he had pretended to be dead. She returned with the robber but her husband got up, with a big stick and, with the the help of the Uist man, drove the robber and the wife away.
