Summary
Horses and how a tired one should be dealt with.
The contributor says that horses are on the wane. He describes how a tired, sweaty horse should be allowed to cool off first. It should then be given some bran and a drink. After that, it can eat what it likes. There was always the danger of damaged blood collecting in the front legs; he mentions the word 'foundered' regarding this. If this occurred, the black blood would be let by making an incision through the hoof.
