Summary - An Orkney row of houses built with a crooked front wall to keep out the Devil.
Peter Leith and his father one time walked down to Nether Bigging on the shore. It was an old series of buildings built in one line. His father pointed out the crooked nature of the whole front wall of the structure and explained that it had been built that way to keep out the Devil, who could only walk in straight lines.
