Summary
A woman kept baking in the fairy hill.
A woman saw a light in the fairy hill and when she went in, the door shut behind her. The fairies set her to baking and said that she could go home when all the flour in the meal-girnel was used up. They went out each day, leaving her alone with an old man. She went on baking for years but the amount of meal never lessened. One day she began to weep, and the old man advised her to make her own bannock separate from the fairies' bread. She did so, and eventually the flour was used up. The fairies gave her her freedom and one wish: she chose to be faster harvesting with a sickle than anyone else, and so it was. The contributor says that the fairies would sometimes give such gifts.
