Summary - Supernatural beasts and powers.

There was a creature called the Caointeach which wailed frequently. Parents, afraid of their children going near the cliffs, would frighten them by saying that the Caointeach would catch them. It was believed that seals were the children of some southern king. Mention of the black arts, evil eye, rebuking and superstition.
