The evil eye and other unnatural oddities.
The evil eye would, more often than not, manifest itself in cattle. They would grow ill or their milk would lose its profit. This was counteracted by the use of silver-water which had been blessed in the name of the Trinity.
It was said that some women changed into hares at times. They would often be shot with a silver sixpence.
