Summary
A lyric song in which the singer recalls happy days spent on Bogieside, but must bid his friends and sweetheart farewell as he prepares to leave his native Huntly.
Item Notes
5 verses of 4 lines. Sung to the tune of 'Bogie's Bonnie Belle' (Roud Folk Song Index no. 2155), probably owing to the similarity between the titles of the two songs.
Gavin Greig relates a communication citing John Riddel of Craigmill as the author of this piece; he is also said to have composed 'Jock o Rhynie' (Roud 2136).
