Summary

Iain Beag killed Chisholms who had killed a widow's cow for their own use.

Iain Beag was away from home hunting when bad weather forced him to seek shelter in a widow's house. A group of Chisholm men came to the house and killed the poor widow's cow for their own food. The next day Iain informed the laird. The laird insisted that they would have to replace the widow's cow and said that it was Iain Beag who had informed him about what they had done. The Chisholms then set out for Iain's house to kill him but he hid outside when they entered the house. His wife told them that he was hunting. As each Chisholm came back out, he killed them with a bow and arrows. Iain and his family fled to Ireland for their own safety.
