Summary
The poor man and the laird.
In the olden days they were very bad to the poor. There was a poor man in Skye and some planned to kill him. One night he asked his wife to put a pot on the stove, but she said there was no food in the house. He said, "Do it anyway and God might provide food." Just then, a girl came from the laird's house with meal and said the laird asked her to find out what blessing the man would give in return. He said to tell him the evil ones must be getting frightened. The laird, who was behind the persecution of the poor man, understood and promised to be good to him in the future.
