Summary
A man is called off to war to fight in Egypt on the banks of the Nile. His lover says she will cut off her hair and sign up in order to be with him. However, he warns her off, saying the conditions in Egypt will harm her health and complexion.
Geordie Robertson got the song at Yokieshill near Mintlaw.
