Summary

How Douglas of Lorne escaped from robbers.

Douglas of Lorne was riding home when he came to a house where a woman was cooking meat for the dogs belonging to the robbers who lived there. He offered her the chance to escape with him, and they took some of the meat with them. When the robbers pursued them with the dogs, they threw lumps of meat to distract the dogs every time they came too close. Finally they reached the sanctuary of a churchyard, where an enemy would not touch them. The woman then got safely back to her own people.
