Summary
Belle Stewart sings fragments of a version of 'Pu'in Brackens' used by her as a lullaby. The first fragment is a phonetic approximation of the original Gaelic 'Tha mi Sgith (Buain na Rainich)'; the second is a Scots translation:
I am wearied [aa] ma lane,
Pu'in breckens, pu'in breckens,
I am wearied [aa] ma lane,
Pu'in breckens early.
Item Notes
Compare:
Tha mi sgìth 's mi leam fhìn,
Buain na rainich, buain na rainich
Tha mi sgìth 's mi leam fhìn,
Buain na rainich daonnan.
