Summary
This waulking song has been sung in three sections. It begins with lines in which the composer tells how her sadness prevents her from sleeping. The central section is one which contains powerful imagery of death and burial. The final section describes the man loved by the composer as a great swimmer, and as a plunderer. The woman would go with him to another land.
