A Leven man, Jock Murray, when he was a child, met the minister one day and recited:
The minister and Mr Spence,
Twa muckle men wi little sense,
They're like a bull amang the kye
And [?] at me as I gang by.
The minister told Jock to come to Sunday school and he would learn better poetry. He eventually took a university degree and got a good job with the Forestry Commission.
