Summary
This waulking song has several sections. It is an argument in verse between a poetess of Clanranald in Uist, and a poetess who praises MacLeod of Harris. The Harris poetess says she is in a strange land. She is looking out to sea, but cannot see her lover coming. If she had her wish, Clanranald would be lying in the seaweed. The Clanranald poetess replies, stoutly defending her clan and chief.
