Summary

An anecdote about Duncan Bàn MacIntyre.

A squad were digging a drain from Loch Awe in Duncan Bàn MacIntyre's time. They lived in a bothy and Duncan used to visit them. When they were paid on Saturday they would buy a bottle of whisky. Duncan was offered a drink out of the bottle and he asked, "What's this?" They said, "Just a drop of water from Loch Awe." He sniffed it and tasted it, and recognised it was whisky. He said, "God bless the water of Loch Awe. Though its smell is good, its taste is even better. If the rest of it is like what is in the bottle, it would be a great pity to let it out."
