Summary - The disappearance of old customs, including harvest customs.
One man, Mr Pottinger, now owns all the land in the district [Braemar]. When farms were smaller they used to have harvest home dances. Sheaves decorated the barn where dancing was held. Mention of the last sheaf to be cut. All the old customs, such as bonfires at Halloween, have died out.
