Summary
The singing style of members of the Fisher family.
There is a Fisher family style of singing. Joyce, Cindy and Audrey Fisher all sound similar. They have a hard vibrato-less quality and, like all folk singers, clear diction. Archie Fisher has a nasal quality of voice production, as does Cilla Fisher, but not Ray Fisher. Archie Fisher's nasal tone is due to the influence of Joe Heaney. Barbara Dickson has a nasal quality and also Martin Carthy. Latterly nasal quality was frowned upon.
