Summary - A song about the completion of the new pier at Croggan in Mull. The Queen [Victoria] asked for it to be built, but who will pay for its upkeep? The many benefits of the new structure are listed.

The contributor tells that Lachie Livingstone composed the song on completion of the new pier. Many people said that there was little point in building it, but after it was completed MacLean of Lochbuie asked Lachie to compose a song for it.
