Summary
Rational explanations for haunted mills and cattle.
A man grinding corn at Wester Skeld was continually pestered by boys playing tricks on him, but he attributed it to the trows [trolls, fairies]. Another time a woman smeared treacle over his cows and he couldn't understand why they kept licking one another.
When he was a boy, the same man stole a pound and bought a music box from a visiting ship. He hid it in the mills at Wester Skeld and the music convinced the people that the mills were haunted.
