Summary
Halloween custom regarding marriage.
A mouthful of water was taken from a stream or well forming a boundary between two crofts or townships. It was brought back to any house, without spilling a drop, with the person listening outside. If no water was spilled, the first woman's name heard (if a boy, and vice versa) would be that of the person's future spouse.
