Summary

A haunted grave following an accidental death in the sea, and how the spirit was laid to rest.

Tom Tulloch tells how his great great grandfather Laurence Moar lost his life gathering wood from a shipwreck. He fell in the sea as he was shouting a warning to other men. As was customary, he was buried above the high water mark where his body was washed up, and his headstone is still there. Lights and other supernatural sights were seen but were banished by setting the holy-water stone from the old Catholic chapel at Vollister on the grave. Tom later found a stone below the present surface of the grave that might have been this stone.
