Summary
This unusual waulking song has a number of unrelated sections. It begins with a section about little Murdo, a contentious fellow. A passage about a person called Kenneth follows, in which there are references to a well of wine from which three of the king's children are drawing. The third section has references to brown-haired Diarmad, and those who would aid him. The fourth section refers to a beloved hunter. It is followed by a passage about nut-gathering. The final section refers to the problems of a man involved in an illicit affair with another man's wife.
