Summary
A lament for John Garve MacLeod of Raasay. The poet will never be able to sing a happy song again. Though the anchor of the boat was strong, the sea was stronger.

Recorded at the National Mòd. John Garve MacLeod was drowned in April 1671. He was returning from Lewis after attending a christening feast in the house of the Earl of Seaforth when his galley sank in a storm.
