Summary
The first Mòd was held in Oban in 1892. The event only lasted a few hours, but over the years it grew to be held over a number days. When the Mòd began again after the Second World War, things were very different. Fred Macaulay explains some of the difficulties that organisers encountered. He introduces the first post-war Gold medallist, Donald MacVicar, singing an exile's song of nostalgia and longing for his homeland.
