Summary
The first song is a love song in which the bard says that she is not able to sleep because she is not with her darling. Her beloved is not black or brown-haired but blonde. She praises his qualities as a seaman, writer and reader. She climbed to a high point to see his ship. When she ran aground, he saved all aboard.
In the second song the composer complains that his tartan clothes are ruined.
