Summary
This is a popular waulking song with several sections. This version begins with the composer telling of climbing the shoulder of a mountain and finding a girl. The central section contains references to clan chiefs and a request to the composer to do the impossible. The final section which praises the Clan MacNeil of Barra is often heard. The composer says that if she had the power, she would share out various islands and parts of the West Highlands.
Item Notes
This is the same as the previous item (SA1958.111.2), but sung to a different tune. The contributor learned both tunes from her mother.
