Summary
In the first section of this waulking song, a woman is asked to see if the moon is shining. She is also asked about the weather. Concern is shown for a boat at sea. In the second section, the song changes theme. The composer states that she has buried five of her children whom she names as Una, Sìle, Mòrag, Anna and fair-haired Murdo. In the final section, a man called Ranald is addressed and the composer asks him to keep the customs of his grandfather, and to build his big house at the end of the road, where the nobles will gather. Some of these nobles are named.
