Summary
A waulking song/war song. The first line is from the soldier's sweetheart; she exclaims that her beloved, the brown-haired lad from Dunvegan, may be lost in battle. The rest of the song is from the soldier, explaining that they were given marching orders and then sailed to Holland to do battle. Many were killed and will never return home, including the clan chief. He asks that anyone who is returning home should bear greetings from him to his family and sweetheart.
