Summary - This humorous song tells how the bard fell in love with a girl he met in the "Royal". Unfortunately, she chose someone else. The bard went home feeling very unhappy. He was given a large brandy and went to bed. He woke up sweating and unwell. In spite of his experience, he plans to get himself another girl. This time, he will take the boat to Oban and marry a Lowland girl.
