Summary - Fear Bhàlaigh was a great, fierce man, and people were scared of him. One day, whilst going to Kilmuir with his dog, he met an old man and a girl with a dog at Balmartin. The dogs started to fight. Fear Bhàlaigh ended up killing the old man with his sword. Three months after this, Fear Bhàlaigh heard the girl crying and asked what the matter was. She told him that her sweetheart was marrying another girl that very day. He took her to the church at Kilmuir and put a stop to the wedding. He then coerced the husband-to-be to marry the girl he had with him.
