Summary - In this sailor's song, the bard describes his sadness when he left his friends and relations. He has gone grey and his appearance has changed, due to the hard life at sea. He thinks how much he would like to be a shepherd. His Gaelic-speaking companions on the ship are praised. If it is his destiny, he will go on the steamer which will take him back to his beloved homeland.
