Summary - Information about a charm that protected soldiers.

A charm was put on a ribbon and given to men going off to war, to keep them safe. The charm was also put on the man himself. This happened to a Tiree man before he went off to fight in the First World War and he's still alive today [1968]. He used to shake the bullets out of his tunic. The bullets would bruise him, but they didn't penetrate the skin. Information about how the charm was put on the soldiers and the ribbons.
