Summary - Sorley MacLean: poetry and the Second World War.

Sorley MacLean describes the personal effect of the Second World War and the effect it had on his poetry, with special reference to 'Dàin do Eimhir'. He was wounded in the war, and did not expect to survive. In fact, he admits that he wished to die in the war. He mentions some of his poetry which exhibits love and personal weakness, e.g. 'An Ìomhaigh'. Other poems discussed include, 'An Cuiltheann', 'Sgreapadal' and 'Hallaig'. Mention is made of poetry written post-war.
