Geàrr-chunntas - Geordie Robertson's piping companion turns out to be the judge.
Geordie Robertson met 'Pipie' Robertson, a janitor at Banff Academy, when Robertson was judge of a piping competition. Pipe Major Robertson, who was wearing Highland dress, encouraged Geordie to enter at a Highland Games, despite wearing ordinary clothes. They hired bicycles and Geordie proposed that they split any winnings. He was first to play and had to be called out of the tea tent. It turned out to be Robertson who was judging, and Geordie won first prize for the March, Strathspey and Reel, despite having an injured hand.
