Notaichean a' Chlàir
The contributor and another man (Mìcheal) got jobs on a boat salvaging iron ore from a ship which went aground, not far from where the Politician had been wrecked. The ship on which they were working broke down and had to be towed to Glasgow. Before they left, the skipper shot a heron, which they later ate. People told them it was a very bad omen. The contributor composed this song on the way to Glasgow.
