Biography

Ali Willie Nicolson was from Struan, Isle of Skye. He was a successful businessman throughout his life, running the local Bracadale Store as well as being a coal merchant, but it was as the founder and editor of the local newspaper The Clarion for which he is especially well known. The newspaper was established in the early 1950s and was created as a means of encouraging social and economic relations through Skye and the Islands.
