Summary

This is the ceòl mòr 'The Glen is Mine' played on the Highland bagpipe.

In his introduction, Pipe Major Brown relates that the tune was composed by John MacCrimmon, piper to the Earl of Seaforth, while he and his master were passing through Glensheil. He feels that it is a happy tune, full of pride; as if the Earl was saying, 'All I see is mine'. He says that a "cut up, slide down" technique should be used when playing this tune and he demonstrates this by canntaireachd prior to playing.
