Summary
New Year and Beltane customs in Perthshire.
In Perthshire, the Old New Year was not kept: just the 1st of January. They always had dumpling at New Year. There was not a great deal of drinking. Beltane was not kept in the contributor's time, but she has heard they made a special scone at Beltane. One piece was blackened in the fire and the person who got this piece was chased by everyone else.
