Summary
An apology in verse for the author's wife's absence from their friends' wedding.
Jamie and Polly are to be married, and Willie Mitchell will attend the wedding. His wife is unable to go, as she has to stay and look after their children. The poet apologises to the groom for her absence, and passes on both his wife's and his own good wishes to the young couple.
