Summary
Disagreements between the Church and the Bard.
Some people disapprove of Calum Nicolson and his songs. Some ministers would consider his poetry vain; others would think his work is good. On one occasion, a church elder told him to stop composing. Calum, however, thinks his gift is God given. The church caused the deterioration of Gaelic by suppressing bards. When they go, the language and culture go too. The interviewer draws parallel with the Faroe Islands and a discussion follows about the Faroese people.
