Summary
Archaeological finds in Wigtownshire.
While ploughing at Cairngaan, the Misses McGaw's grand-uncle found an urn, which was dated to 1200-1500 BC. They recently gave it to a museum. An ancient bead was picked up on a harrow tooth, and a shark's tooth and an arrowhead were also found. This was about 1872. Another urn was found at Muir of Genoch by a visiting professor: it was barrel-shaped and had probably contained human remains.
